Work together with experts and individuals who understand water from very different perspectives, including agriculture, livestock, irrigation, economics, environmental protection, geology and water research.
Focus on innovation, water reuse and non-traditional water sources. Conservation will always be an important part of Luna County's water strategy, but we cannot conserve our way out of a shrinking water supply. We also have to find new water, develop new technologies and responsibly put water we currently consider unusable to work. That means asking hard questions about brackish water, produced water, reuse, aquifer mapping and other technologies while demanding strong science, rigorous testing and protections for our communities and environment.
It’s time to start talking seriously about solutions.
